REVIEW OF SPRING 2008 INSPECTION TRIP TO FRANCE
Kelly Bateman and Katie Crawford’s recent thousand-mile journey through France started in the Ile de France in Fontainebleau, continued through Southern Burgundy where they explored the Saône-et-Loire and ended in the sunny South of France near Aix-en-Provence.
Their visit to the culturally rich and historically important city of Fontainebleau offered a glimpse of the myriad pleasures and interesting opportunities afforded by the location of Le Clos du Papillon. With the best of both worlds - a peaceful countryside setting and the City of Lights just 90 minutes by car - this professionally decorated and exceptionally equipped property is not to be missed.
In Burgundy we were once again seduced by the supreme comforts of Le Plaisir and pampered by the ever-delightful resident caretaker. Difficult as it was to tear themselves away, they managed to re-visit the stately Maison aux Pres Verts and inspected a new listing: a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment in a historic building in the heart of Cluny, home to the abbey founded in 910, once the largest Christian building in the world. Before continuing south they visited a number of enchanting villages where they met delightful locals and drank in scenery of rolling green hills dotted with white Charolais cattle, as well as a few verres of crisp Côte Mâconnais.
A few hours south on the Autoroute, and Kelly and Katie were once again in their comfort zone of Provence. From their conveniently located and finely appointed homebase of Mazet de Manon they re-visited a few dozen properties from our current collection and inspected a handful of new properties in consideration for the remaining rental season and 2009. Their time in Provence covered locations as far north as Châteauneuf-du-Pâpe and Vaison-la-Romaine and as far south as Aix-en-Provence. Their visits confirmed the properties we currently represent maintain Just France’s high standards. Every property re-visited was well-maintained and in many cases has been substantially improved upon since our last visit, either by the proliferation of landscaping features aided by the bright Provençal sun, new pieces of furniture to enhance the décor or fresh bedcovers, curtains or other aesthetic touches. Kelly and Katie also met with a number of service providers, including personal guides who offer customized tours to suit a wide variety of interests. We are confident each and every contact we recommend will create a unique and memorable experience for our clients' long-awaited stays.

Mas du Destet in the Bouches-du-Rhône region of Provence has a handful of high-season weeks available. The owner has offered a substantial discount in an effort to fill the following weeks:
of June 7-14, June 14-21, July 5-12 and August 9-16

The price for any of these weeks is $10,950 for groups of up to 10 people, and $12,300 for groups of up to 14 people, the normal maximum occupancy.
The rental price includes daily cleaning and all other charges except telephone tolls. High-speed Internet is provided free of charge and a chef is available upon request. This historic property is ideal for a group of couples or an extended family.
Chateau de la Clairière in the southern Loire Valley is available for several periods in the summer including May 3 to July 12 and August 9 to23

The price for one week is $11,850, for two weeks $22,250. This is for groups of up to 16 people, with 12 adults maximum.
For groups of up to 8 guests, an additional reduction is available, to $9,550 per week. The top floor of château would be closed off, leaving 6 bedrooms available for renters.
Château de la Clairière is also available for Christmas at a discounted rate - $10,850 for any of the following weeks: December 13-20, December 20-27, December 27-January 4, 2009.
The owners are former Just France renters and have restored their château with every creature comfort prospective renters could imagine, in particular large showers and a sparkling new kitchen exceptional in size and amenities for a château. The grounds and woodland trails evoke an 18th century work of literature, and the friendly caretaker can be engaged for cooking, tours or extra cleaning.

Throughout the country, the landscape
and the people awake from winter's slumber and prepare for the delights of
the coming months. Trees and flowers start their long blooming season, and
a myriad of spring vegetables and fruits find their way onto restaurant
menus and into market stalls.
While the dollar is performing poorly, our season is busier than ever. We
believe that our clients recognize the value of a rental property versus a
hotel - not only will you pay in US$ but you'll also have your own kitchen
for preparing meals. We are also noticing an influx of clients from the UK,
Australia and Canada, whose currencies have strengthened against the dollar.
Our international clients recognize the quality of our properties and we are

The weaker dollar provides an excellent excuse to explore the local markets
and really use the kitchen in your rental property. It's a great way to
save some money and spend more time with your traveling companions, not to
mention getting a deeper understanding of the local culture and the
importance of farmer's markets in the local economy.
