MALARTIC

Malartic is on five private acres, nestled into a fruit orchard, twenty minutes from the city of Agen, and a fifteen minute walk from the village of Bazens, with beautiful views of orchards and vineyards all around. Large windows throughout flood the home with light and provide excellent ventilation. French doors open to a balcony overlooking a lake, private pool, and on frequent occasion magnificent sunsets.

No expense was spared during renovation resulting in a striking blend of comfort and tradition. Ancient Durango stone tiles were used in the restoration and every inch of stonework was restored and exposed. Traditional architectural features incorporate heavy beamed ceilings, arched front door, and large, custom built windows and shutters. Entrance is into a dramatic living room, with a monumental fireplace, wood beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls, and stone tiled floors, which are combined with stylish contemporary furnishings.

An archway from the living room, constructed of a two foot thick stone wall, opens to the new, fully-equipped kitchen, with professional quality gas stove, oak wood cabinetry, Bosch dishwasher, microwave, and two under-counter fridges. A corridor from the entry leads to two delightfully decorated guest suites. The master bedroom with queen-sized bed enjoys views of the lake, valley and swimming pool. The ensuite bath has a vanity, bath tub and WC. The second bedroom has a double bed and shower room with vanity and WC.

A wooden staircase leads up to a large loft, that runs the width of the house, comfortably furnished with sofa-bed, bar, computer with broadband connection, sofa, chair, glass coffee table. It is an ideal space for watching the TV with satellite reception, exercise or work. It can also double as accommodations for an additional guest or two.

The kidney shaped swimming pool which can be heated has a stone tile terrace and plenty of outdoor furniture. It is fenced off and set just below the house, providing complete privacy.

A laundry room with new washer and separate tumble dryer is located in the basement, accessed by the wooden, center staircase.

Available year-round for stays of two weeks or longer, attractive off-season rates, radiant heat plus a working fireplace makes Malartic an especially good choice for a longer-term rental from November through April.
