LE CLOS DU SOLEIL

Le Clos du Soleil is a Provençal home of great charm and sophistication situated in the immediate environs of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence within easy walking distance of the town. The architecture of the house and its lovely guest cottage are typical of the region, while the tasteful decor reflects a classical style that emphasizes country antiques, soft warm colors and furnishings that are at once comfortable and pleasing to the eye. The centerpiece of the carefully manicured grounds is a 4 m X 9 m (13' X 29.5') swimming pool with a wide flagstone deck.

Ground floor

A large open entry hall with marble floor.

Open plan living room and dining room; dining table for up to 10 guests.

Guest lavatory off the entry hall.

A modern, compact and exceptionally well-equipped kitchen with four gas burners and oven, dishwasher, double-door refrigerator, double sink and a variety of countertop appliances. The counters are granite. Opening from the kitchen is a small terrace with a breakfast table.

Spacious master bedroom suite with a king-sized bed and marble ensuite bath with tub, separate stall shower and WC.

Medium-sized guest bedroom with 140 cm (55" across) double bed.

Studio with its own entrance (this bedroom cannot be reached from the main house) with good-sized bedroom, king-sized bed and ensuite bath with stall shower and WC.

Laundry room with American-style washing machine and separate dryer.

Opening off sliding glass doors from the dining room, overlooking the pool, a covered terrace with a table for up to 10.

Upper floor

Bedroom with twin beds and ensuite bath with hand-held shower and WC. This bedroom is most appropriate for children.

Bedroom with king-sized bed and ensuite bath with stall shower and WC.

Bedroom with 140 cm (55" across) double bed and ensuite bath with stall shower and WC.

Kitchenette with small stove and breakfast table with two bar stools.

Amenities include flat-screen television with satellite reception (including CNN and BBC), DVD player, high-speed Internet connection, fans in all bedrooms, fax machine, outdoor lighting, automatic irrigation, security system and remote-controlled entrance gate. Le Clos du Soleil is a child-friendly property, and there are a number of games and diversions for children at the property.

Flower gardens, mature shrubs, exotic plants, cypress trees and a gorgeous lawn are among the features of the beautifully landscaped grounds, which are entirely enclosed by tall hedges. The pool house has a summer kitchen with a barbecue, sink, refrigerator and covered dining area, and around the pool deck is a generous assortment of lounge chairs and parasols.

Even with its serene location on the periphery of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Le Clos du Soleil is easily accessible by train, plane and automobile from international destinations. The TGV station at Avignon is a drive of about 30 minutes. Marseille-Provence International Airport at Marignane, which has several flights daily to London and Paris, is less than an hour away. An entrance to the Autoroute system, the complex of superhighways that links France from border to border, is a half-hour away.

With the enchanting town of Saint-Rémy only 10 minutes away by foot, Le Clos du Soleil has the dual advantage of being in a tranquil and verdant setting, yet within easy walking distance of a town that draws people from all over Provence to its many shops, restaurants, art galleries and boutiques.
